The stores are filled with gifts to give to those we hold most dear. Each year it is the same, what should I buy? We fuss and worry and it never seems to be enough, no matter how hard we try
We hope that the Season will hurry up and end So we can forget about the time and money we had to spend. We are tired and we are weary and instead of peace and joy We run out at the last minute, because we forgot to get the batteries for little Tommy’s toy.
The stores and malls are open until 10:00 o’clock at night, And no matter when we go the crowds we have to fight. Until Christmas seems to be a time of sheer toil and dismay And we hope it will all be done with, as we wonder whose idea this was anyway?
Be it hard to comprehend, in this day and age, The meaning of Christmas has nothing to do with which gift is the latest rage, Christmas is a time of celebration because of God’s perfect love, When he sent his greatest gift to us from his kingdom up above.
He did this thing for us out of compassion and caring So it wasn’t the price of the gift, but the LOVE expressed by sharing, Sharing what he held most dear so we would have our sins wiped clean His gift was something that only the heart could accept, but with eyes could not be seen.
We should remember all of these things as we reach Christmas day, And not be so worried about the gift we will give, perhaps we should try and say How much it means to be together sharing love and hope and peace Forgiving past mistakes and putting each other at ease.
These are gifts that money cannot buy And you can give them with your heart, if you really try. So instead of running here and there, Wondering if another Christmas shopping day you can bear.
Stop and listen to the sounds of Joy and Hope Stop and lend a hand and help someone cope. Smile and give a piece of your heart and in some way reach out to, Someone who is lonely, or less fortunate than you.
Try to forgive the way the Lord has forgiven me and you. And like his gift of love, your gift will be one that is true Not just for the moment when the wrapping is torn away But a gift that will last day after day.
December 25th is drawing near Give something to your loved ones That will make Christmas last all year…

I just stepped outside and was welcomed by a cold windy blast It would seem that spring and summer went by too fast. The sky is full of southbound geese calling And woe is me, lots of leaves are falling.
No sunny beaches for me or temperatures that always stay in the warmest range. And I remind myself I chose to live here where the seasons change. I will say I really don’t mind each season as it brings New sights and sounds, yet I must admit my favorite is time is spring.
Soon I will see my pond covered with ice and mounds of snow. I will think of sunny days gone by, as I feel the north wind blow I won’t be sitting by the pond watching dragon flies or listening to birds twittering Instead I will stay inside where is warm, to keep from shivering and enjoy icy Jack Frost patterns glittering.
I will long for lily blooms swaying in a gentle summer wind And regal lotus flowers so large that that their stems bend I will miss staying by the pond long after the sun has gone and it is night Waiting for my night blooming lily to open in the moonlight.
I am comforted knowing that in just a short time the frozen scene before me Will melt and my beautiful pond will be Transformed and renewed as spring gently returns And winter will not longer be a concern
Guess I will hurry back inside to get my gloves and a thicker sweater On second though maybe I will just stay inside until the weather gets better. I will look at the pictures of my pond from last summer, and plan and dream. And hope that old man winter won’t stick around to long or be to extreme.
