POTS WITH NO HOLES IS WHAT I LIKE BEST FOR GROWING IN!

Pots with no holes are the best for your water plants for a number of reasons.

· The planting media you will be using will have less chance of leaching out into the pond as with the basket type planters that have holes. .

· The new tender roots don’t grow out of the bottom or sides of the pot. Anyone with fish knows that the fish love to eat them, and that isn’t good for the plants.

· The fertilizer doesn’t leach out into the pond as easily as with pots that have holes in the bottom, or the baskets with holes in them.

· If you plant lotus in pots with holes in them the runners will go right through any holes and wander all around your pond. Lotus can be very invasive and the runners can invade the other containers in your pond and also punch holes in your liner if given the chance. Pots with holes give the lotus runners more opportunity to do that.

· Usually the pots with no holes cost less that the mesh type baskets.

We also suggest using the tubs you can usually find at dollar discount stores. They are similar to the 5 gallon squat pots we sell. The only drawback is that they usually come in bright colors, I haven’t seen any black colored ones also some are square, which is fine.
